Midsummer Solstice Celtic Concert at The Warehouse

U.S. National Scottish Fiddle Champion Jamie Laval will perform a concert in Cornelius on the longest day and shortest night of the year, June 21.

In this family-friendly tribute to the midsummer solstice, Laval will be joined by enchanting soprano Megan McConnell. The duo will present ancient music from the Hebridean Isles and the Scottish Highlands, featuring Gaelic love songs, toe-tapping peasant dances, and a few genre-bending surprises.

The retelling of ancient mythic tales from ancient times is interspersed between musical selections.

Laval gave a private performance for Her Majesty the Queen, appeared on Dave Matthews’ platinum Some Devil album, and presented a TEDx Talk on the value of arts and music in our communities.

Megan McConnell is lauded for the ethereal, lyric beauty of her singing, her broad stylistic range, and her perky, theatrical performance sense.
