Time to Get Smashed, Go to a Psycho Beach Party, and catch the Kasondra Rose tour in Old Town this week

The inside scoop on a few of the best happenings in OTC each week.

Psycho Beach Party
July 28 – August 12
8:00 p.m.
Warehouse PAC
9216-A Westmoreland Rd

It’s opening weekend for a beach party gone crazy!
Warehouse PAC is hosting a production of Charles Busch’s 60’s-era beach party with a twist from July 28 – August 12.
The award-winning author of The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife gives “Gidget” beach party epics and Hitchcock psychological suspense thrillers a shotgun marriage! Chicklet Forrest, a teenage tomboy, desperately wants to be part of the surf crowd on Malibu Beach in 1962. One thing getting in her way is her unfortunate tendency towards split personalities. Among these are: a check out girl, a radio talk show hostess, a male model, and the accounting firm of Edelman & Edelman. Her most dangerous alter ego is a sexually voracious vixen…with nothing less than world domination on her mind!
Contains adult themes and explicit language… but they are funny!

You won’t want to miss this show, which was described by the Associated Press as “fiendishly funny!”

Wallace LIVE at OTPH and Carolina Smash Truck Food Truck
Wednesday, July 26
8:00 p.m.- 10:30 p.m. (Food Truck arrives at 5:00 pm)
Old Town Public House
21314 Catawba Ave.

Nothing could be finer than to get smashed in Carolina! Make it happen Wednesday when you make your dinner plans in OTC for a taste of Carolina Smash Truck’s culinary goodness. Carolina Smash Truck offers unique twists on America’s favorite sandwich, the grilled cheese. Getting smashed takes on a whole new meaning when its done with applewood bacon jam, heirloom tomatoes and the oh-so-delish sweet horseradish pickles! The only thing that might go better with this dish is some cold beer and live entertainment, this Wednesday we are in luck because OTPH will be serving up both of those too!

Local, multi-instrumentalist Wallace Foutch and his band will be jamming some of your favorite tunes from the 60’s to today.

Come out and get over the hump with us and Wallace and Carolina Smash Truck at OTPH!

About the contributor:

My name is Adé and I love music. I mean LOVE. Like, the kind of love that causes you to make irrational life decisions. The kind of love for which you forego a full scholarship at a top university and a commission in the U.S. Navy, just for a shot at a record contract (#truestory).
I am the lead vocalist for The Hawthornes, a local 4-piece funk/rock/soul fusion unit. And we wouldn’t be here without the unique OTC community helping to make, support and define the local music scene.
